Well I haven't posted..

in a while! I know I have been neglecting my blog! It is hard for me to get to the computer on the weekends! When you work like I do on a computer 5 days a week for 8 or more hours a day the last thing I want to see on my off day is my computer!

Ok now on to why I post! I have not had a cigarette, it is getting a little easier! I only notice now maybe once or at most twice a day that I have a craving for one!

I still have not put this to any sort of test, like meeting up with friends that smoke to watch a game or meet up at the local bar. I'm not sure if I'm ready for that yet (but I know I can't avoid it forever)!

A quick hello

I am off in a few to pick up my godson and my niece to see the Celtics play their last game before the playoffs. The big 3 won't play the whole night (or at all), but I got the tickets at a good price and the kids won't care! They will keep me busy (to busy) tonight to even think about a cigarette (a least their good at something besides spending my money)! Thanks to Donna and Reformed Smoker for their continued support! As Donna has said it is easier with a cheering section!

Well off to spend way to much money tonight! See you later!

Another Day

It's Tuesday and at least today I am a bit more together than yesterday! Of course it helps when you've had 2 medium hot tea's from Dunkin Donuts (with xtra sugar), 1 medium iced tea from Dunkin Donuts and a Pepsi (all before 3pm). Oh well as I always say there is never enough caffeine (or at least not for me).

Today was a little stressful, I ordered Boston Celtics on Sunday and they were to be overnighted and up until a few minutes ago they had not arrived (they game is tomorrow night). If they had not show up my niece and godson would have been very disappointed (and I can't do that to them)!

And now onto the question on everyone's mind - no I have not had a cigarette today! It has been One week, six days, 6 hours, 39 minutes and 52 seconds since I quit smoking!

Now just one personal message to Donna from Losing Weight from a Writer's POV come on girl get back on track (you can do it)!

Ok I'll post again soon!

Start of a new week!

Here we are back to Monday! Have I mentioned that I hate Monday's (don't even get me started on Monday mornings)! I am so tired today it's not funny! I think I could sleep for the next week straight! Of course it doesn't help that I slept a total of 3 1/2 hours last night and was straight out crazy busy all weekend!

Well the most important thing is I didn't smoke! Yeah!! Woo Hoo! Driving is getting a little easier, and I have cut back a little on the Nicorette Gum!

Ok I'm getting hungry so off I go! I'll catch you later!

Still Hanging in..

I am still hanging in there. I am finding the few cravings that I get each day (only getting one or two) are really strong! Last night I had a dream about smoking, the crazy part is I usually don't remember my dreams! They usually don't last for more that a few minutes but wow they are enough to almost send me running for the store (hopefully by the time I got there the craving would be over). Well to say the least I am not going anywhere without my Nicorette!!!

On a much better note, I have tickets to tonights Red Sox vs. Yankee's game (Woo Hoo) and I won $$$ on a radio promotion yesterday, so all in all this has been a great few days!

Ok well time to get back to work! Talk to you all later!

Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day

I know we have to watch what were eating, but you can't pass this up (or at least I can't)!

Free Cone Day
An annual event, held in late April or early May, in which Ben & Jerry's scoop shops give out free ice cream cones all day. This year's event, taking place on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, marks the company's 30th annual Free Cone Day.

Over one million free cones are given away each year, prompting the company's ad slogan "Be One In A Million." Charitable organizations are often present at the stores each year and enjoy a significant amount of fundraising success. Sometimes the event is scheduled to coincide with Earth Day and sometimes volunteers are on hand with clipboards and voter registration forms to help those who would like to register to vote.

The first Free Cone Day was held on May 5, 1979. It was done by Ben and Jerry as a customer and staff appreciation event for the one year anniversary of their ice cream store's opening.

Week 1 is done..

Well I have made it through the first week! I have had my good and bad days (it seems most days have a little of each in them)! Thank goodness for Nicorette or I would be a basket case!

I have been trying to keep this quit a little quite, not many of my friends know at this point, I will fill them in as I go. I am trying it this way for now as to not disappoint if I slip (not that I plan on slipping, but every time I have quit before it was forever and we see how well that worked).

I have to mention a special thanks to Reformed Smoker for all of his support so far!

It seems that I am ranting at this point so I will sign off for now! See you later!

Happy Opening Day!!

Red Sox opening day is finally upon us! The Red Sox have been on a crazy road trip and our record shows it! But finally they have cope home! As I listen to the game and watch the ring ceremony I realize that today has gone by without any problems! We just scored again and now are leading 4-0 in the bottom of the 6th inning! GO BOY'S!!

Day Five!!!!

Wow Day Five and still going! I had to avoid a few of my normal hangouts this weekend, but overall not to bad. Today hasn't been bad until about 20 minutes ago when I finished what I was working on and noticed that I was nor bored and this would be a great spot for a cigarette break! Popped a piece of Nicorette Gum and decided to hop on and post a blog to keep my mind occupied!

Thanks to the people who stopped by and posted comments, I really do appreciate you support! OK well enough for now! I'll post again later.

Rough Afternoon

This afternoon is not going well! I really want a smoke!! I think because time is standing still and I haven't found another way to break up a long day / afternoon! I am hoping that I can get past this by keeping myself busy here!

Of course I did waste a little time by ordering Red Sox VS. Yankee tickets for next week (woo hoo)!

Ok well enough for now, I'm sure I'll be back soon!

One day, 6 hours, 58 minutes and 58 seconds, since I quit!

Day 2-

I made it past the first 24 hours! I have noticed a few headaches and the hardest part for me is when I'm in the car! Boy that is a huge trigger for me!!! I'm going to have to figure something out while I'm driving! Other that that so far so good. I'm avoiding bars and social events right now. I'll get there (I think)! Right now I need something for my head!! I post again soon!

Symtoms-

So it's been 8 hours, 54 minutes and 34 seconds since my last cig (but who's counting). So far it's been ok, I have noticed that I'm a little moody. But in my defense I haven't killed anyone yet! Things could be much worse. Just have to stay away from people who aggravate me to much!! This should prove interesting!

8 hours, 57 minutes and 48 seconds. 4 cigarettes not smoked, saving $1.15. Life saved: 20 minutes.

My 3rd attempt to quit smoking!

Well lets see if I can get this attempt right! I am hoping that my using this blog to post some of my thought will be helpful to me and anyone else out there who is trying to quit for the first time of one hundredth!

Ok so for a little of the back story! I am almost 40 years old and have been smoking since I was 14. This is at least my 3rd attempt to quit (I've lost track). I have been able to quit for 6 months in the past, but there always seems to be something that will set me off on the wrong track! I sure there are many people out there who feel the same way or have had this happen to them as well.

Well I seem to have ridden my way past the after lunch smoke break with a little help from Nicorette gum and keeping my hands busy typing! I'll post again soon!

5 hours, 53 minutes and 25 seconds. 2 cigarettes not smoked, saving $0.76. Life saved: 10 minutes.
